In our Teaching Elementary Mathematics class, we went over equity in a mathematics class. With this, you have carefully consider all your students when planning your lesson. I believe the idea of equity is making sure all your students have the necessary resources to understand a lesson. Equity is not giving the same materials to all your students, because the materials you give to one group of students may not help with another group of students.
Equity is visible within my interning classroom. I see my teacher pairing students that could support other students, like ELLs, students with behavioral issues, low achieving students, etc. Equity is shown when students split up into their literacy centers; you got about five students doing guided reading, some students reading to each other, some writing, and some on the computer on a reading program. Based off these centers, she divided the students based on what they are struggling in and she's able to address all the students that have the same problem at once.
