Class Theme Song: done to be a collaborative writing of a class song. This would be great in a writing lesson to teach word choice. We would do this activity first, and then the students would go back and write their own piece. Students work would be assessed on their word choice.
Say it Differently: the class forms a circle and the teacher says a sentence. The sentence is passed around the circle with each person changing the rate, volume, pitch, accent, and rhythm. This activity can be done with a writing lesson teaching voice, it can be done teaching a reading lesson with character trait. I like this activity a lot because ELLs can enjoy doing this just as much as mainstream students.
Homemade Jam: have a jam session with student-made instruments. Put on music and play along, forming an "orchestra." This can be incorporated with the "Class Theme Song;" have some students singing and others playing the instruments.
