From this I've learned that you can tell a story through dance. In book it mentioned, dance takes physical space, but it equally needs psychological room. I find this important to take back with me because some teachers and administrators may think students would just be having fun and no learning involved; but the book is right, dance requires some thinking as well. From the chapter, I'd probably use the energizers/warm-ups including: Wiggle and Giggle and Rubber Duckie. Since it says the Wiggle and Giggle develops focus, I might use it before the students take an exam of some sort. The Rubber Duckie is when students pass around a rubber duckie and as they receive it say, "Look what I can do," and demonstrate a dance move. This can be used if we have free time at the end of the day. Or instead of showing dance moves, this can be used during a lesson to show maybe how one student did their math problem....
Dance and movement can be used to enhance lessons by using them as an assessment or to teach a concept. To make things fun for your everyday classroom, you can even have certain dance moves to signal things like: using the bathroom, water, tissue, library, etc.
